Oxford Nanopore Technologies announces the appointment of Francis Van Parys as CEO

Oxford Nanopore Technologies has announced the appointment of Francis Van Parys as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective March 2, 2026. Van Parys has over 20 years of leadership experience and is currently the President and CEO of Radiometer, a global diagnostics company within Danaher Corporation.
He will succeed Gordon Sanghera, who has led Oxford Nanopore since co-founding the company in 2005. During this time, Sanghera guided the growth of the company and helped bring nanopore sequencing technologies into widespread use in research, healthcare, and environmental studies in more than 125 countries. Sanghera will step down from the board of directors when Van Parys assumes the role and will remain with the company as an advisor until early 2027 to ensure a smooth transition.
